Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS)
Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS) offers the broadest resistance to chemicals compared to many high-performance plastics. PPS maintains its properties at temperatures up to 392°F and is inert to steam, strong bases, fuels, and acids. It has minimal moisture absorption and a very low coefficient of linear thermal expansion. After PPS has gone through stress-relieving processes, it can hold very tight tolerances and this makes molded and machines PPS products ideally suited for precise tolerance components. PPS can be glass of carbon fiber reinforced to even further improve dimensional stability, impact resistance and enhance the thermal performance. In addition, PPS products exhibit excellent electrical characteristics and are inherently flame retardant. PPS is ideally suited for plastic components in automotive, electrical, appliance, industrial applications, and serializable medical, dental and laboratory equipment.
